I payed a worldwide acount in May with costs of US 180.-. At present I can not even employ information technology because there is no posibility to access with a Mac Version 10.6.viii.
Microsoft says that it is possible on the oneline Version of Skype: That's a prevarication cause yous need a plug in that runs only with Mac. 10.9 or higher.
So: I reclaim officialy my coin back and volition not hesitate to take legal actions (highly-seasoned unjust enrichment) and I promise everybody who is damageded will exercise the aforementioned.

Terrible Customer service! I accept classic iMac running 10.7.5 Lion and Microsoft just screwed up my international communications. I'thousand continuously directed to download and install 6.fifteen which doesn't piece of work! I cannot run web Skype as was suggested in a Safari 6 browser which isn't available in 10.7.5. Microsoft seems to ruin everything that they touch but they tin change that perception by letting united states of america use Skype again. Scroll dorsum the changes!

Yes my apologies I didnt brand it clear in my first post, something I have now corrected. Skype for Web volition work for chat only on Mac not for calling.
I accept done some work with our teams on the download page and we have discovered a bug which is why you are seeing the 6.15 download page when infact its retired. Unfortunately it just affects people using OSx 10.8 and lower. The team are working to have that page updated but with today beingness a holiday in the USA information technology may non exist until tomorrow that the folio tin can be removed. I have viewed this discussion with involvement as I wasted several minutes downloading the old version I already had and restarting etc to get skype to work on my quondam faithful iMac (OS X 10.7.5)
I appreciate that you are the messenger here and Im sure we are non aiming barbs at you per se, but at Microsloth.
Its just frustrating and annoying to no longer have Skype working on our one-time desktops. I accept an iPad and iPhone and so still have telephone call connectivity at least.

FYI... I, like probably many other tinkerers keeping their old Macs running, have max'd out my OS X upgrades and can not upgrade any college. And so 10.nine is not an option.

To others who take just thrown Skype in the trash...
I just used Facebook Messenger video call successfully from Australia to NZ and it worked OK. A lot of lag just meliorate than nothing.

hmm, I wish that was truthful.
Came home to detect out that my promart611 account that was hacked recently (read my other posts) was blocked and I cannot log in anymore from Samsung GT-N5100 tablet running Android version 4.iv.4 does non permit me to log in even with the Microsoft account and countersign!. Final nighttime it was running fine and I thought that the damage was restricted just to my Os 10.6.8 on my mbp. The tablet version of Skype has automatically updated alll the time.
Allen, did you know about this or have an explanation for it?
Or is this something that you lot guys prepared, unannounced of class, as a 4th of July "souvenir" for all the users that don't have the latest phones/tablets/devices that run the latest versions of Android as per the FAQs I saw yesterday?

just that is disingenuous ... as you know OS Ten x.seven.5 is the highest upgrade for these classic iMacs.

My son is a loyal Skype user who has been paying since the first year Skype was introduced. For him and for me, this activity is completely unacceptable. Microsoft must know that in that location are millions of Mac users who apply Macs that are 5, 6, 8, and x years old. (Macs tend to have a much longer lifespan than PCs, and the resale value of a used Mac remains high for several years.) Well-nigh of us folks who savour our older Macs much prefer the stability (and smaller memory requirements) of earlier versions of the Mac OS. And some of united states of america older folks can't even read the carte du jour bar or lists on later OS versions, where the system font from Lucida Grande to Helvetica.
Apple may effort to encourage us to use a after Bone version, only while they might say that they no longer support an older version, they would never cripple an older version such that nosotros can't use information technology. Firefox recently deprecated the before OSes by telling us that nosotros couldn't upgrade to later version, but they didn't disable the last version that worked with those OSes. For all I know (and I don't actually know), Windows users may be used to this sort of thing, but from the Mac side, this is simply abhorrent behavior on Microsoft's part, and needs to exist corrected ASAP.
I am only of those people who is heavily dependent on Skype for my life. To have to swtich to something else who be intensely disruptive.
Skype is primarily for making calls and sending conversation messages. The fundamental technological principles of how those work oasis't changed for 10 yeas. Whatsoever new bells and whistles you lot've added that crave features of OS versions later than ten.half dozen.eight are not needed by a keen many of united states of america, who just need to make calls and conversation.
And so, kindly either find a way for us to continue to employ the Skype app for Mac (with older Bone versions), or build a "lite" version that we tin utilize, that doesn't include anything that requires a later Bone version.

Skype Classic ( v7.37+, electric current downloadable version is 7.59) does non run on x.9 anymore and requires 10.10! MS notwithstanding claims on the requirements age that it is 10.9 compatible!
